Young Peoples Chamber Orchestra – Online Broadcast

This is the debut performance of a composition by a local student Gwendolyn Przyjazna.  And it is the official orchestral launch of the Redwood Violin. Recorded at the Phoenix Theatre, Petaluma.

The Young People’s Chamber Orchestra, directed by Aaron Westman, presents a virtual concert: “Underrepresented… and great!” The concert will be live on Zoom, Saturday, May 15th at 7pm. Young People’s Chamber Orchestra will be live, discussing the program and introducing the music, which they pre-recorded, and which features Santa Rosa Symphony Music Director Francesco Lecce-Chong as guest harpsichordist in the Overture in C by Marianne von Martinez. The program also features the premiere performance of the Redwood Violin! Concertmaster Aeden Seaver (16) will perform Concertino for Violin and Strings by Gwendolyn Przyjazna (17), a member of the ensemble, who has composed the piece specifically for this event. In addition to Martinez, other underrepresented and wonderful composers highlighted on the concert are Johan Helmich Roman, Samuel Coleridge-Taylor, Scott Joplin, and William Grant Still.
